01 / The Framework

Three words. One career.

Methodology is what you do. This book is about the gap between what you do and what you can describe, and the discipline of closing it on purpose. The three words are not a staircase. By the time a rep has been at this a while, all three run in the same week.

I · See it

Isolate.

Name the mechanism behind your own work. Not the outcome, the mechanism. Replace "gut feel" and "relationship" with what you actually did when the deal worked, in terms you could teach.

R · Change it

Refine.

Change one behavior at a time, on a schedule you set before the friction starts. Your numbers get worse before they get better. The book names that stretch and puts a number on it.

C · Multiply it

Compound.

Keep doing it, for years, until you are the rep the next system gets built around, because you are the only one who can describe what the system is supposed to do.
